Restaurant L'Italien - La Rochelle

We went to this restaurant by chance. We hadn't even had time to enjoy our aperitifs before the main courses arrived. It was as if they were in a rush for everyone. My partner found a hair in his food, which was a bit much. Apart from that incident, the food was quite good. The atmosphere was very tense, with the owner, I suppose, speaking rudely to the young waiters and waitresses. If you're looking for drama, go there; that's the vibe. Just kudos to the waitress who didn't let it get her down and continued serving with a smile despite the constant criticism. Personally, I wouldn't have been able to handle it in her place.

The food was excellent and the service was quick. Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled by the chef's behavior towards the young servers. Throughout the meal, she belittled and insulted them in a rather unsubtle manner, to the point that the other customers could hear her. It was very unpleasant to watch and created a bad atmosphere. It's a real shame, because the quality of the food deserves to be highlighted.

Great food. The waiter came across as a bit surly at first, but he later turned out to be a very friendly man who cheerfully did his job.

It's a real shame: the food is excellent, but the experience is completely ruined by the owner's uncontrolled attitude towards her staff. It's a pity that an establishment with such potential is spoiled by such a heavy atmosphere and such toxic management!

Avoid this place, not because the pizzas are good, but because the owner refuses to apply "The Fork" discounts and, what's more, refuses to give you a detailed receipt for your meals, knowing full well that without it your complaint won't be successful. It's a rip-off.

Very warm welcome and very good food!

Friendly welcome, but the €18 Bella pizza was more than ordinary, even worse than a supermarket pizza! They made a mistake with one dish, but it was replaced. Avoid it.

Excellent restaurant. Fast service. Very, very good pizzas. Best Caesar salad I've ever had. Giant Proferno. Excellent chef. I discovered this restaurant thanks to the Fork app, which was offering a 30% discount, and I'm thrilled. Highly recommended.

If you're looking for Italian food, this is the perfect place. The setting is charming, and the meal was delicious. However, there was one small drawback: like in many restaurants, they took our order just as we were bringing our aperitif (even though the place wasn't crowded at all). A little Italian music would be a nice touch. Good to know: they do takeout.

Lovely Italian restaurant right on the old port in La Rochelle with some good vegetarian choices. We had 2 delicious pizzas on a sunny table on the terrace.

A hidden gem! The best pasta I've had in France, excellent service, everyone was so friendly and attentive. They clearly put a lot of passion and heart into their work. Congratulations!

The pizzas were very good and the ingredients were high quality. However, when we placed our order by phone, we clearly specified that we wanted one salmon pizza and one truffle pizza. Upon delivery, the pizzas were not what we expected. When we called to find out why, we were told that the website wasn't up to date. It's a shame, because despite the quality of the pizzas, this misunderstanding somewhat spoiled our meal. Updating the information would prevent this kind of confusion.
