We arrived at 10:50 AM in front of the subway and waited for it to open at 11:00 AM. A man sitting outside a café asked us if we could go in, but he said no, that nothing was ready and we would have to wait 20-30 minutes. (Don't write 11:00 AM if you don't know how to work on time.)

We could have given zero stars considering the complete lack of service. My partner and I arrived at 11:00 AM to eat, as the hours clearly state 11:00 AM. A gentleman was sitting calmly on a chair in front of a small café/cigarette stand. We politely asked him if we could come in, and what a joke! He told us, "Oh no, nothing's ready, you'll have to come back in 20 or 30 minutes." Seriously, sir, it's 11:00 AM, and it's supposed to be open, and you're just sitting here doing nothing, and you're telling us this?! That's unacceptable!

Okay, we know the products if we shop at this store, but the service here isn't great... The staff are filthy, and when you ask for Wi-Fi because there's no signal, they tell you, "It's not for customers!" If you want to stay a while to work, you're better off going somewhere else. Customer service: 0

So, where to begin? One employee was incredibly slow; there were few customers, so there was no justification for such slowness, a palpable lack of professionalism. The employees even amused themselves by throwing empty bottles at each other in the room, laughing loudly. It was extremely unpleasant.

The two gentlemen who served us were delightful! They showed tremendous respect for my partner, who is vegetarian, by offering to change his gloves after he had touched meat! They were honest about the value of the products we chose and had such warm smiles that it was a real mood booster! Thank you so much, we ended our stay in La Rochelle on a wonderful note!
