La Noue - Bourg de Sainte Marie de Ré

A still wild beach.

Just lovely weather was not too hot nor cold, just right.

A pretty little town out of season.

It's a very pleasant place, the perfect end to a family bike ride. The streets are beautiful, with a few artisan shops, and the lovely, well-stocked market will hold some delightful surprises (my daughters were thrilled). We stopped at the corner café for a well-deserved coffee, which overlooks the main square next to the bakery. We enjoyed some excellent tastings of local products, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We were also advised to walk down to the beach to admire the scenery and the view. A truly wonderful, relaxing, and genuinely enjoyable experience for the whole family. This visit is one of my favorites on Île de Ré: pleasant, sunny with a bit of a breeze, and very friendly shopkeepers—definitely not to be missed.
